Cheap Single Pushchairs
The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a good option if you are on a budget and don't require an extra stroller that can be used as car seat carriers. It comes with a simple one-step foot brake that's flip flop user-friendly.
It's also a breeze to push and feels solid in navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. It's also easy to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned its reputation for being the ultimate lightweight stroller, both for city dwellers as well for jet-setters. This is thanks to its super nimble maneuverability and fold-down design that can be incorporated into an aeroplane's overhead luggage. The latest version has independent suspension on all four wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to 'perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.
The frame's base YOYO2 frame, curved fabric bassinet and six-month colour pack come together to make a stylish and elegant pushchair that's easy on the eye, with a subtle but elegant aesthetic and tasteful branding. The frame itself weighs just over a kilogram and is so light that you can lift it directly from the box (and do it with one hand).
It's also simple to add or remove attachments or adaptors such as the hood, for instance, snaps on to the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable to help deter stains from smushed rice cakes and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram starting from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into stroller at 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great option for parents looking for a stroller that is versatile. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be converted from a stroller to the wagon by turning the handle. Parents can then select which one is the best fit for their needs. The wagon can fit two or three children ranging from 6 months to 5 years old. It comes with a large storage basket that will hold all your necessities when you are on the move.
The Xplore has dual canopies which are able to rotate from front to back, ensuring adequate sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This may not be ideal for long drives or naps.
The frame of the Xplore is solid and sturdy however it doesn't have as much flex as some of the other wagons we have tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the competition and it doesn't close tightly when folded. It is easy to move however, and it can fit through doors that are narrower than 28 inches.
3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side
This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It scored well in our Strollers & Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions. This means it's lightweight and compact when folded and easy to lift and store in a trunk for your car. It also offers a multi-position reclining seat and an adult cup holder. Other important features include two large hanging storage bags as well as 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.
In our test of push and turn, it did better than most of the other strollers that we tried, but it's not the most maneuverable on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only direct overhead coverage, and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.
It took us under 3 minutes to put together the Delta using a standard manual. All of the components required tools. But, it's lacking some critical features that we believe it is important to consider as non-negotiable features in a double stroller like a large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is the newest addition to Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is billed as an urban travel system. It is designed to take babies from birth to around 3.5 years old, easily changing into a seat and carrycot by just a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats, and comes with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible baby carriage.
It's a breeze to manoeuvre and the one-hand reclining of the seat as well as the massive shopping basket make it simple for parents to get their child out and in quickly. Despite this being quite narrow, the pushchair handled the everyday bumps with ease and was able to pass through doorways without fuss.
The front wheels can to be locked in a forward direction and can also swivel. This is useful when navigating rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel during our walk on the stony path. It handled this reasonably well, even though it felt to be a bit rougher.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,
Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain jogging strollers. However, they also manufacture a vast variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It folds easily and fits easily in the trunk of a car even with an attached carrycot.
It is a bit heavier than other strollers that we tested but the wheels are a rubber composite, which makes it feel well-built and durable. It is easy to maneuver over different terrains, and even with two children with shopping bags and other things.
The carrycot and seat both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are showerproof and sturdy unlike other prams' hoods which get bounced back into toddlers faces.
It's not a lot of storage space, however it does come with a huge basket that's big enough to hold an infant's changing bag and plenty of groceries. It can also be connected with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you are looking for a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
When the Nuna Mixx first came onto the scene it stole the hearts of parents everywhere. It's a stroller made of aluminum that can see you through your baby's first years and beyond. The chassis is equipped with an integrated suspension system that reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made from tough foam and minimise punctures. It was easy to push and our tester was able manoeuvre the vehicle through the narrow streets.
It folds in just four steps and locks automatically without hassle. It also stands and can be carried by trolley for easier transport in the car's boot or down the stairs at home. The travel system is offered with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot by using the adaptors included. The brakes have only one action and are colour coded. They also work with flip-flops.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget single pushchair is surprisingly easy to maneuver and has excellent dual suspension, a one-hand fold and a practical carry strap. It's also extremely light and durable. The seat can be reclined to many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress built in that is suitable for babies.
The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors that can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can awaken napping babies.
The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It can be used with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be positioned so that they face each the other. They can also be oriented towards the parents. This should lessen sibling fights over who gets seated with mom and dad. The seat is comfortable and has plenty of room to sit, but the seat's depth is less than other joggers we've tested (it's about 10"). The storage bin is encased with a zipper that keeps things safe. It can hold up to 10 lbs. It is enough for the majority of diaper bags.
The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets or infant car seats in the way it is, however you can use it right from the start by purchasing adapters for the majority of seats made by brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby.
